Offering complete privacy and relaxation for up to six guests, Swallows Rest is an architecturally designed modern property using natural wood and local stone to compliment its riverside location, offering the best in Wanaka vineyard accommodation. Floor to ceiling glass offers all day sun and natural warmth with breathtaking river, mountain, vineyard and endless sky vistas.
Perfect for a romantic getaway, an intimate wedding or honeymoon, family get-together or small group conference.

As a working vineyard, guests are encouraged to participate in a complimentary tasting of the property’s wine and to explore the vineyard and its engaging surrounds. Fisherfolk are encouraged to bring their rods and try their luck at our secret spot!

The Lodge consists of 3 bedrooms. The main space contains a King Bed Master Suite with ensuite bathroom, office and/or yoga, meditation room. This level also hosts the large open plan kitchen and dining area with fully equipped modern kitchen, a library and restful lounge with stunning open fire. The upper level of the lodge consists of a further bathroom, laundry, a double bedroom and a twin-shared room which can be reconfigured as a further double. The entire lower level can be opened up for flow throughout.

Rates

From the 1st of September 2015 for exclusive use of the Lodge, a complimentary bottle of Swallows Crossing wine and artisan continental breakfast hamper:

  • NZD $495 per SINGLE NIGHT STAY double/twin occupancy
  • NZD $395 per night incentive for 3 OR MORE NIGHT STAY dble/twn occupancy
  • NZD $75 per additional guest per night

During High Season a minimum stay of 3 nights may apply.

Activities

Central Otago is renowned for the wealth of outdoor activities it offers in both Summer and Winter. With Wanaka, Cromwell and Queenstown all within an hour’s drive we delight in offering advice and suggestions on your daily plans. Or you can stay put, revel in the peace and serenity and soak up the atmosphere right on our doorstep.

Popular choices should you wish to get out and about include winter skiing or snowboarding, golfing, jetboating, fishing, hiking, winery visits, horseback riding, local Farmer’s & Craft Market visits, adrenaline pumping skydiving, parapenting or bungy-jumping or more sedate art gallery, museum and gold-panning options. You can also take your pick from an array of excellent café, restaurant and bar options. We are happy to make any bookings you may require and can arrange airport transfers or shuttle services to suit.

Relax At Swallows Rest

We look forward to sharing our special piece of paradise with you and extending our hospitality and love of excellent food and fine wine.

If your own company is most important of all we are happy to ensure your privacy. You are welcome to prepare your own meals in house.

If, however, grocery shopping is not high on your list of priorities we offer a pantry service filling the shelves with items you have chosen in advance and charging you accordingly.

Dining

Each morning of your stay you will awake to a fresh continental breakfast hamper full of local artisan delights.
Should you have a busy day planned we can arrange with suitable advanced notice for a delicious picnic lunch basket to be ready for you to take with you based on a local caterer’s availability.

If dinner preparations are not on the agenda we can deliver to you a delicious supper board for two for $95 including a selection of cheeses, dips, crudité, bread and other tasty treats to tempt the tastebuds.

Should more formal in-house dining be required we can arrange for a local chef/caterer to prepare your evening meal but arrangements for this must be made at the time of booking. Confirmation is dependant on numbers and availability and is subject to our cancellation policy terms.

  • Check In is after 3pm
  • Check Out is 11am

Tariff Includes

Accommodation / Daily Continental Breakfast Hamper / A Complimentary Bottle of Swallows Crossing Wine during your stay / All NZ Taxes.

Reservation Deposit

In order to confirm a reservation, we require a deposit of 25% of the total stay (this can be secured with a credit card number).

If we do not receive the full amount 30 days before the date reserved we reserve the right to re-book the accommodation.

Cancellation Policy

Due to our intimate size and location any cancellation affects us significantly. Therefore in the event that part or all of a confirmed booking is cancelled we must apply the following charges:

  • 30 days + prior to confirmed date – 25% of total charges
  • 30-14 days prior to confirmed date – 50% of total charges
  • 14 days or less – 100% of total charges

We highly recommend purchasing a comprehensive travel insurance which would protect against unexpected changes to your travel plans.

Swallows Rest is a No Smoking Zone

Liability

Whilst we do not anticipate any issues with your stay, we do not accept liability for any injury that may occur as a result of your visit to the Lodge or property. Swallows Rest is a working vineyard and an extensive property with river access, bluffs, a dam, farm animals and rough terrain. We assume that guests booking and staying at Swallows Rest will have valid comprehensive travel insurance.

Damage/Spills/Breakages

Your credit card will be charged to cover any additional cleaning required as a result of your stay. The replacement cost of any items broken or damaged during your stay will also be charged.

Blockouts

Swallows Rest is booked for the nights of 24/25/26 and 31st December 2015 and January 1st 2016.
