By Air

We are a short and very scenic helicopter flight from either Queenstown, Cromwell or Wanaka.

Situated in Central Otago, New Zealand just north of Bendigo on the banks of the Clutha River, Swallows Crossing Vineyard is planted over 8.5 hectares.

Predominantly north facing, the ground is largely free-draining glacial outwash topped by layers of river silt, gravel and windblown loess.

Vineyard

As you drive in the front entrance to Swallows Crossing, you pass our top flat. This runs parallel to the Tarras-Luggate Highway. It contains 4 hectares of Pinot Gris and 1 hectare of our earliest plantings of Pinot Noir. This area has our deepest soil pan.

Continue on past the green shed (our Tasting Room), up a small rise and as you pass through a shelterbelt of pines, the magnificence of the Clutha River and surrounding mountains come into view.

Dropping below you to the river is the remainder of our Pinot Noir, and to the left, our Riesling terraces.

Visit us at the Tasting Room and experience the glorious vistas we enjoy as the vineyard drops away to the river and the valley opens up to Lakes Wanaka and Hawea.
